Studio

Introduction

ZET Design Studio is an architecture and interiors studio based in Istanbul, working on residential, workplace and hospitality buildings.

We do not leave the work at a single scale: within the same project, the massing decision and the junction of a door handle are both ours.

ZET comes out of Behzetoğlu. Not an abbreviation — a subtraction. The excess was removed and the carrier was left.

The office works the same way. Take out what a building does not need. Keep what holds it up.

We take a small number of projects at a time. Drawing starts on the site, not in the office.

Every project is coded and archived the same way, from the first survey to the last revision. The code follows the drawing to the site.

We draw details at 1:5. Junctions are decided before finishes.

Architectural design
From schematic design to construction documents, including the permit process.
Interiors
Spatial layout, built-in furniture, material and lighting selection.
Detailing and production
Junction details at 1:5, fabricator selection, workshop supervision.
Site
Weekly site visits and construction review through the build period.

Ad Soyad

Founder, Architect

Founded the studio in 2018. Previously worked on housing and public buildings in Istanbul and Rotterdam.

After completing an architecture degree, spent two years in a joinery workshop; the studio's approach to detail comes from there.
